Galactic is a New Orleans-based funk band. Their latest CD, “Into the Deep” was released in July 2015 and features an eclectic mix of vocals and instrumentals. The band has been recording for more than 20 years creating songs with influences of hip hop, electronic, rock, blues, and jazz. Their current tour includes stops at major festivals all over the East Coast.

It’s a foot stomping party with bluegrass/jam festival favorites Rumpke Mountain Boys and special guest Tenneesee’s alt-folk Annabelle’s Curse!

What Is DxDT?

Down by Downtown is a three-day celebration of music with concerts at Elmwood Park Amphitheater on Friday and Saturday nights (4/15-4/16), as well as live music nightly in 5 venues in downtown Roanoke alongside the Big Lick Music Conference. More than 50 acts will perform throughout the week and at the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon finish line.

What Is The Cost?

Throughout the weekend, many concerts feature free admission. Check back soon for a complete schedule of performers, and ticket information.

Tickets for the Galactic concert will be $20 (March 4 – 11), and $25 starting March 12. Tickets will be $30 the day of the show. Participants of the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon & Anthem Star 10k can purchase discounted tickets.

What Else Is Going On?

Down By Downtown occurs in conjunction with the Blue Ridge Marathon, America’s toughest road marathon.
There are races for all ages experience levels.
